This is now, This is live

This is now, this is live is a performance paper providing a sample of Zoo Indigo’s new performance work Under the Covers. The presentation explores the use of live video links to the performers sleeping babies as they ask the audience to babysit. It addresses concerns of the relationship between audience and performer both real and virtual. The audience have a vital role to play, they have responsibilities, they are expected to form a parental relationship with these digital infants.

“‘This is now, this is live’ also stood out, with an unsettling yet intriguing demonstration of performance ‘Under the Covers’. Let’s just say I hope I never have to babysit over Skype.”
