Company History
We (Ildiko and Rosie) founded the company in 2002 following our graduation from the Contemporary Theatre degree at DeMontfort University, Leicester.
Our first work was created as an intimate exchange for a small independent live art festival in Leicester, the piece was commissioned by Phoenix Arts, Leicester for the ‘Made in Leicester’ festival and became the company’s first official performance piece Dress Code: Indigo. Dress Code: Indigo was re-worked with support from Arts Council England with live jazz band The Knife and Forkestra in 2005.
Since 2002 we have devised a number of performance works and skills exchange platforms, collaborating with dancers, musicians, directors and media artists. We have created performances with community groups, young people, schools and universities, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Our workshops and residences encourage participants to think outside the traditional theatre bracket and explore contemporary ways of making.
Alongside the company we have both continued to develop our
independent careers as project coordinators, managers, mentors, lecturers, directors and dramaturgs.
Between 2006-2008 we had a ‘pregnant pause’, whilst we both had babies. In 2009, we re-ignited the company with new performance Under the Covers.
